Our sparge tank is full of grain and we have the 1st strike of the day. We were using a simple, single stage spage regiment for this particular
batch of beer.
|
| While a little on the low side, the puppy is warming up as we pour in our hot water. This is one of
those handy features on or kegs that makes life worth living.

We have sucessfully sparged thru and are now ready to start our first, full boil. The excitement builds as the smells become delicious.
|
| Weighing out the first of our hops. This little scale is accurate to .1 oz and works great for hop
weights. Dan was selling these for a song last year. Definately better than that old sight guess we use to use. Now, if we could just figure out
how to grow the hops in our back yards better, we could have been using home grown ones instead. Oh well, maybe next year.

Our first runnings. Looking mighty fine for the next step. A quick cooling off period.
|
| Our counter flow chiller. This is another one of those wonder things to have in the brew house.
We picked this up late last year and this is the 1st time we have had a chance to use it. This one is made by PBS systems and works great.
A bit pricey compared to the coilded copper tubes but the time it saves is incredable.
